He had to use a spear because it was impossible to kill these cats in the jungle at any distance. He had to bring them to him, he was the bait, then he would finish them with the zagillero. Hey Tex ! Hope you're having a decent winter there in the not so free state of Illinois. Your tree stand would be a great place to try a thermal camera. Not the $7K tactical sh!t the guys who play army wear or mount on their rifles ,the ones for a few hundred a tradesman like myself may use for electrical/plumbing/insulation audits. Just got one and it's amazing. Very cool watching what moves in total darkness.

Your stand looks to be in a pretty open area not hardwoods…An Earthway spreader, a rake, and 10 bags of wheat and oats laid down in the month of October can help spring up a quick cheap food plot hunted in the afternoons that will produce…good luck!

Great idea for the handle texturing, seems at this point I've turned into a collector also lol. We can't spear hunt anything in Canada but I do like them for a "walking stick" and a backup if needed. I have this spear arriving today, I think the only one I don't have is the boar spear.
